The identification and authorization of an individual based on physical characteristics is called Biometric Identification. This technology can be used to ensure vehicle safety by granting a person access to a vehicle only based on authentication and to enhance the comfort of the vehicle users using advanced technologies such as health monitoring, heart rate monitoring, and memory seats. The biometric identification systems can be grouped based on the technology used for user identification and authorization. The technologies that are widely used are the Fingerprint identification, Hand geometry, Palm Vein Authentication, Retina scan, Iris scan, Face recognition, Signature, and Voice recognition.
