These derivatives along with their parent compound liquid bromine are used in a variety of applications. The major applications include flame retardants, drilling and completion fluids, biocides, chemicals used in water treatment, pharmaceuticals, plasma etching and PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) synthesis.
