VERIZON Internet of Things (IoT) Security

Verizon has managed to create its impact in the IoT space by providing unique features for secure IoT deployments and further facilitate its commercial clients with features such as predictive and prescriptive analytics. The company is hoping to stand out in its ability to leverage upon its wireless connections with its existing relationships, trusted partner status, cloud services, and other capabilities. In January 2017, Verizon Enterprise formed a partnership with Cypress semiconductors, a semiconductor design, and manufacturing company. This demonstrates the company’s intent to strengthen its offerings in IoT space by incorporating its ThingSpace software development kit with cypress development platform and thereby bring robust wireless connectivity with end-to-end security to IoT devices. Servers are one of the key elements of an IoT system, which are prone to attacks and threats. To strengthen the cloud services which help IoT devices to securely send and receive data, Verizon partnered with Cisco to provide advanced collaboration services.
