Summary

The MaxCore IPC platform, another member of the MaxCore family, is embedded with 15 peripheral component interconnect (PCI) express slots to support a wide range of MEC applications, such as video surveillance, data analytics, and video transcoding. The platform is an amalgamation of board management controller (BMC) and CPU. The BMC runs a web server for remote access to the unpowered box and remote maintenance. Moreover, the company majorly focuses on the design and development of exclusive products pertaining to MEC. For instance, it launched the MaxCore HA platform to reduce the cloud infrastructure expenses and increase scalability.

ARTESYN TECHNOLOGIES Presence in Mobile Edge Computing Software
Artesyn strategically focuses on both organic and inorganic growth strategies to enhance its product portfolio and strengthen its foothold globally as well as in the domestic market. The company firmly believes in having strong relationships with its partners, and has formed strategic alliances and partnerships with several streaming video technology providers for enhancing its products. For instance, in April 2016, Artesyn announced its collaborations with four streaming video technology providers: RIFT.IO, Pixtree, Noisypeak, and Comprimato. These collaborations would enable Artesyn to integrate a range of multiple network functions. Other partners leverage the Artesyn MaxCore and SharpStreamer 2U platform to enhance their performances. The company has been actively innovating its product portfolio by launching new products and enhancing the existing products through new version releases. For instance, in February 2016, Artesyn launched the MaxCore HA platform, a high-availability version of its micro server platform for NFV/SDN and carrier cloud networks, including new network components, such as the cloud/vRAN (C-RAN/vRAN). The platform has various high-availability features, such as hot swap and clocking and virtualization at the network edge.
