This translates into a confusing interface, and some of the features are unnecessarily complicated. If you’re a veteran user, you’ll be able to get a handle on the software fairly quickly, but it may overwhelm the newbie.
When it comes to product features, figshare’s offerings are decent but nothing extraordinary. The software supports the basic functionality you’d expect, like importing references, sharing, tagging and organizing them properly, as well as some basic analytics features. But there’s nothing that really stands out. The software is also limited when it comes to integration options, such as web page scraping, and other modern tools you’d expect in a reference manager.
The cost of ownership is also a huge issue. There’s no other way to put it: figshare’s pricing structure is exorbitantly expensive. 'I’ve been using Figshare Reference Management Software for my research for a few months now and I must say that I find it to be a great tool. I particularly love the auto-citation tool which makes the process of citing sources much easier.
I also find the integration and interoperability options to be very impressive. It’s very straightforward to link data with different software and services. For example, it’s very easy to ensure complete data synchronization between Matomo Analytics and Figshare.
The only downside I’ve noticed is that the search results aren’t as accurate as I would expect. Despite the fact that it offers an impressive library of 15 million scholarly articles, the quality of the search results is sometimes lacking.
Having said that, I still think the Figshare Software is great. It has a great interface, a robust set of features, and integration with third-party software. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.'

'Having been in the reference management software business for many years, I feel like I have a decent understanding of the various tools and offerings out there. Having said that, I felt like it was time for me to review figshare’s offerings in this space.
Figshare’s product vision left me feeling cold. The software felt like it was just a way for them to extract as much money as possible from their users, with little regard for providing an easy-to-use interface. They’ve added a lot of features that just clutter up the user experience. It may be easy to navigate for someone who’s used the software for a while, but it could be easily overwhelming for new users.
When it comes to product features, figshare’s offerings are fairly basic. They’ve got the standard stuff like importing references and basic analytics, but nothing noteworthy. Plus, the software is severely lacking when it comes to integration options. You’ll have to add a lot of third-party tools to get the full range of features out of it.
And finally, the cost of ownership is another big problem. Figshare’s pricing structure is outrageous. There’s no other way to put it: you’re paying way too much for the features on offer. For the same price, you can find software with more features and a better user experience.

I’ve been a customer success woman leader for a few years now and I’ve had the opportunity to use Figshare’s Reference Management Software during my role. I find it to be a reliable and effective service for keeping my reference materials organized.
I find the value for money to be on the higher side. One of the main reasons I use the software is because it offers a lot of features and helps me save a great amount of time. For example, it has a comprehensive database of over 15 million scholarly articles. This allows me to quickly search for and reference existing studies without having to spend time manually finding them.
The interoperability and integration options also are really great. One of the business tools I use occasionally is Matomo Analytics, and Figshare’s platform is easily integrated with it. It allows me to quickly get important insights and track key references effortlessly. Plus, it has consistent export features that make the process of integrating and setting up data synchronization effortless.
Overall, I’m really satisfied with the tools Figshare provides. It’s definitely on the more expensive side compared to its competitors, but the robust set of features it provides definitely makes it worth the cost. I give it a strong 4 out of 5 stars.'

The software launches have been timely and the product vision of FigShare towards developing economic and efficient solutions to support research work has been quite impressive. Their flexibility in adapting to client's specific demand and requirements is also laudable. The feature set offers a unique and integrated platform that supports data sharing, archiving, preservation, collaboration and access - all under one space.
What has really impressed me is the after sales service which is consistently prompt in providing solutions to our queries. Even with the system implementation, the customer service and support team was involved in every stage and was extremely efficient in helping us out.

'Figshare's set of Reference Management Software has been a lifesaver for me as a senior manager with large scale projects and competing deadlines. It has made my workflow much more efficient with its ability to quickly sort and store my research materials. With customizable tabs and folders, I was able to filter out easily the relevant results in comparison to other software I sampled out.
What I liked the best was its futuristic features, such as being able to integrate with Adobe cloud storage, which has been a blessing for my collaborators across different countries. I love the idea that I can pick up my work from anywhere, including my phone, without having to constantly sync my materials. The customer service consultants have been extremely friendly and patient with me throughout my transition to this tool, often staying in contact after my purchase to ask about my experience and supporting me with any changes or updates I might need in the set-up.
Overall, I highly recommend Figshare's Reference Management Software for the working professional. I would rate it a 9/10 for its supporting futuristic use cases coupled with excellent customer service.'

'figshare’s Reference Management Software offerings provide an understandable interface that aligns with our company requirements. However, I have found that it could be expensive during the course of the product’s lifetime because of a lack of understanding of ownership costs.
