Oracle Analytics Clou Presence in Embedded Analytics Software
Oracle delivers a broad range of software applications, platforms, and infrastructure technology with associated professional and managed services to large enterprises and SMEs. The company’s BI and analytics product portfolio caters to a wide range of business applications including IT, finance, marketing and sales, meeting diverse requirements of different end-users. Oracle invests a significant amount of its revenue on R&D and has increased its R&D expenditure in the recent three years from 2014 to 2016. The R&D expenditure in 2016 amounted to 16% of the company’s total revenue. In the embedded analytics market, Oracle maintains its position by expanding its offerings through organic strategies, which include new product launches and product developments. With frequent enhancements to its existing BI product portfolio, Oracle caters to the changing requirements of its user community. In November 2015, it introduced the Oracle BI 12c, a major release to its BI portfolio, which is designed to deliver an entirely new experience for blending and visually analyzing any data in an enterprise-scale analytics platform. Further strengthening its cloud portfolio, Oracle expanded its cloud footprint in January 2017, by bringing Reston, Virginia; London, UK; and Turkey online. With this expansion, Oracle has doubled the regional presence of its cloud platform in the past 24 months, with 29 regions available globally. Each of Oracle’s planned new cloud regions consist of a minimum of three high bandwidth, low latency sites – or Availability Domains (ADs). This unique, differentiated approach provides the highest levels of failure protection and availability to even Oracle customers’ most demanding cloud applications. Apart from product developments and new launch initiatives to expand its presence in the BI and analytics domain, the company leverages its acquisition of ISVs, thus helping in expanding its analytics offerings for various industries. Additionally, Oracle leverages its extensive partner network to increase the adoption of its existing portfolio and to expand into new markets.
