In 2017, Aclara acquired the Smart Grid Solutions (SGS) division of Apex CoVantage, LLC. Following the acquisition, the company now offers comprehensive end-to-end solutions, including installation services and provisioning of field labor. The new capability allows Aclara to provide full turnkey solutions for increasing productivity and reducing operating costs of utility firms. In 2016, Aclara acquired the smart grid business of Tollgrade Communications, a global market leader in the smart grid sensor market. The acquisition enabled the company to provide utility firms with an economical alternative to expensive sensor management systems. In 2015, Aclara acquired General Electric Grid Solutions, a global provider of residential, commercial, and industrial meter technology. The acquisition empowered the company with a dynamic workforce, significant intellectual property portfolio of active patents and patent applications, and a global reach extending to the North American, Latin American, APAC, and UK regions.
