NEC CORPORATION in Software-Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization Solutions

In order to gain competitive advantage, NEC Corporation is coming up with various strategies such as new product launches, partnerships, and collaborations. NEC was the first company to launch an OpenFlow product named Programmable Flow. Along with product launch, the company formed partnerships with many big players. For instance, NEC in May 2017, entered into a partnership with DELL that would provide network virtualization to enterprise environments. Furthermore, NEC and HP Inc. partnered to offer open standard networking solutions designed for enterprise customers. The company also entered a partnership in March 2017 with A10 Networks to jointly offer SDN/NFV solutions to the market. NEC and NetCracker Technology expanded its partner program to widen its ecosystem with NFV solutions. Moreover, the company and its subsidiary Netcracker Technology entered into a partnership with Lanner Electronics to increase carrier grade NFV ecosystem. Apart from partnerships and product launches, the company is aimed at increasing its global presence. It collaborated in March 2017, with a Chinese developer Dalian Hi-Think Computer Technology Corp. (DHC). This collaboration would help the company to promote its SDN business in china.
